Chasing Flakes in Silverton

Skylar shredding a few inches of powder and a foot or two of facets. Grim snow conditions around Colorado had us chasing a few inches of snow around Silverton. 

Darrell touring during the incoming storm... The landscape needs a little freshening up. 

Waking up to one or two inches in the town, instead of the forecasted 5-8. Skylar does not approce. Did we dream of reading that 5-8 forecast?

I leave you with this!!! Maybe our collective karma can change this weather pattern. Happy Holidays!

First Turns

Donny Roth ridge cruising yesterday near the citadel. It's not everyday that one gets to go way above treeline and ski lines of the high peaks in Colorado in December. 

Donny making the wind-jack and depth-whore look like powder. But the skiing really was good!

We were not the only guys having fun cruising ridges... 

Psyched to get the first day on skis on the books. Now someone just needs to remind mother nature that it really is winter and bring the SNOW!

Check it out. The full-lenght movie premeired on Colorado Public television the other night. Can't say we enjoyed watching it, but I'm glad it's out there. Lot's of interesting subtle statements made in this flick, but much was left unsaid. Maybe one day I'll write up our account of how this played out, the conduct of Boulder County officials, Sheriff Pelle and the media show for political gain that they put on.
