Check out the current issue of Climbing Magazine - photo of Mr Joe Mills on the table of contents page during his send of Hallucingen Wall (5.13- R, 16 pitches, 2nd free ascent) in the Black Canyon. Joe recieved a well-deserved runner up in Climbing Magazines Golden Piton awards. Here are a few more photos from that climb to add some more color
After the cactus traverse, sinking the only jams of the whole route, in on of the very few moderate sections of climbing - just before one the crux 5.13 pitches leading up the bivy under the huge roof.
Dave and Joe on the bivy waiting for sunshine and warmth - taking in the incredible canyon and the roar of the gunnison below. Also got to spectate a party getting forced into an unplanned bivy on a route on the south wall - just across the canyon, but still so far away...
Relief; topping out after the loose final pitches.
Taking in the beauty of the north rim of the canyon before heading home. Nice work Joe and Dave - thanks to Climbing Mag for running one of the images (hopefully more of the A-roll images will trickle out), and thanks to Ibex for supporting Joe.
